Philosophy n' stuff
Well, the term "philosopher" means "love of numbers". And the Greek philosophers based their philosophy on two things. One, The universe is put together in an orderly way, and subject to absolute and unchanging laws. Two, people can understand these laws through logic and reason. The sophists, a group of philosophers, questioned peoples unexamined beliefs and ideas about justice and other traditional values. One of the most famous Sophists as Protagoras, he questioned the existence of the Greek gods. Socrates was the main critic of the Sophists, he believed that absolute standards did exist for truth and justice. As well, he questioned the people of Athens to go farther and find these things out for themselves.
