Well, to start off this is one of my favourite subjects to cover.  The roots of Greek culture were based on the interaction of the Mycenaean, Minoan, and Dorian cultures. Greece was not a united country, and by 3000 B.C Minoans lived on the Island of Crete. By then a lot of people wanted to settle in Greece. And the geography of Greece impacted the lives of the Greek, the geography was a mountainous peninsula, there was about 2000 island surrounding that peninsula in the Aegean and Ionian sea. And the sea allowed for great transportation and great trade routes, and Greece needed extra natural resources. The land of Greece wasn't great it was mostly mountains and the rest of it was valleys barely able to be farmed. And the mountains separated the cities of Greece, allowing for the cities to become very independent and create diffrent cultures.
