    - They were metalworkers, artists and architects

- But the Latins settled Rome first

    - commercial port, situated so trade ships could navigate

- The Romans drained a marsh called the Forum, Tarquin the Proud's grandfather built the Cloaca Maxima

- Lucius Tarquinius Superbus was the seventh and final king of Rome, a true tyrant (in old and modern definition of the word)
